How to Charge Your Car's Battery

Everyone here at Hunt Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat understands how a dead car battery can ruin your day. Luckily, you can solve the problem with a powerful battery charger. We want you to be an informed vehicle owner and understand how to care for your car, so here are some simple step-by-step instructions on how to charge your car battery.

Car battery chargers typically draw power from a standard electrical outlet. Before you start, you need to prepare your charging area. It's best to have the charger as far away from the car as possible while still being able to reach the battery with the clamps.

Pop the hood and locate the battery. You may have to remove a plastic cover to access the terminals. Make sure that the charger is unplugged before you proceed. Then, attach the clamps to the battery terminals. The red clamp goes on the positive terminal while the black one goes on the negative. Wiggle the clamps a bit to make sure that they're secure. Now all you have to do is plug the charger in and wait a few hours for your battery to be replenished.
