All-New Ram 1500 vs Classic

All-New Ram 1500 vs Classic

Many people use the words "Ram 1500" and "Ram 1500 Classic" interchangeably as if they are the same vehicle. As you probably know, these two trucks are not the same. While they do have some similarities, there are also several differences that help them stand out on their own. And this year, the Ram 1500 has been completely redesigned to be even more impressive than before. Here is a look at the all-new Ram 1500 and the 201 Ram 1500 Classic.

Exterior Design Comparison

Both the all-new 1500 and the 1500 Classic feature a rugged and bold exterior design. However, there are a few noticeable differences.

The all-new Ram 1500 comes with several innovative features that help to make the truck more aerodynamic. The truck features a class-exclusive air dam that engages at high speeds to divert air around the truck. There is also an available Active-Level Four-Corner air suspension system that automatically lowers the body when travelling at high speeds. The sculpted hood and the Active Air grille shutters also work together to divert the air around the truck.

Instead of focusing on aerodynamics, the 1500 Classic has decided to focus on practicality when it comes to an exterior design. The 1500 Classic features a large truck bed that comes with a class-exclusive RamBox Carto Management system. The RamBox is a waterproof, lockable box that is located on the side of the truck bed. It is also equipped with a bright light to help you see inside the box at night. In the main part of the bed, the 1500 Classic also offers an available LED cargo light that is located on the sides of the bed to help illuminate the entire bed.

Interior Design

Both of these trucks are offered in several cab configurations and provide a spacious and luxurious interior. The 1500 Classic, however, offers an available 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display that comes equipped with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, SiriusXM radio, and a 3D navigation system. To help ensure that your smart devices are able to stay charged, the 1500 Classic also offers an auxiliary input jack, USB ports, and a 12-volt charging point that are safely tucked away inside of the centre console/storage compartment.

The all-new 1500 also offers a wide range of high-tech features. The cabin offers a standard 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display, or you can opt for the larger 12-inch touchscreen display. Both displays come equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The all-new 1500 also offers an available heads-up display and an auto-dimming digital rearview mirror.

Power and Performance

The Ram 1500 Classic offers two engine options to choose from. The standard 3.6-litre V6 engine delivers 305 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft of torque. The available 5.7-litre Hemi V8 delivers up to 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft of torque.

The all-new Ram 1500 also comes standard with the 3.6-litre V6 engine and offers the 5.7-litre V8 as an option. In addition to those two engines, the all-new 1500 also offers the available 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V6 engine that delivers up to 480 lb.-ft of torque. Also, the available 702-horsepower 6.2-litre supercharged Hemi V8 engine is able to deliver up to 650 lb.-ft of torque.
