In the last couple of years, Ram has hit on an innovative way of giving their customers more trucks for their money. The Classic range is based on their lineup from a couple of years ago, providing full-featured pickups which are no longer quite at the cutting edge, but available at an attractive discount compared to the very latest releases.

Design
The biggest difference between the two models is obvious at first glance. Where the Express features a Regular Cab design with two doors and a single front bench seat, the Warlock upgrades this to a Quad Cab. This design's four doors open to a choice of bench or bucket seats in the front, and an extra bench row in the rear.
Under the Hood
Ram's gas powertrain configuration hasn't changed drastically since 2018, so both the Express and the Warlock offer fully up-to-date engine choices, although without the newly released EcoDiesel and mild hybrid options.
The base configuration on both is a 3.6L V6 engine making 305 horsepower and 269lb-ft of torque. When married to the eight-speed automatic transmission and choice of rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, this setup provides a capable truck suitable for most light-to-medium duty tasks.
However, both the Express and Warlock can be taken to a new performance level with the optional 5.7L V8 mill, which can crank out up to 395 horsepower and 410lb-ft of torque. With these figures, heavier-duty tasks in challenging conditions become perfectly realistic.
Capabilities
Both Express and Warlock have a payload capacity of 857kg when fitted with the standard V6 engine. At this level, the Express has a slight towing capacity advantage thanks to its lighter cab format, handling 2,777kg compared to the Warlock's still-useful 2,091kg.
However, when the V8's extra grunt is added to the Warlock, the optional Class IV hitch means the truck can tow a highly impressive 7,246kg, easily one of the best capabilities in the Ram 1500's class.
Warlock Vs Express: The Verdict
Both trucks offer an exceptional combination of performance, capability, and value. If you don't need the extra space of the Quad Cab, then the Express may make the better choice, even though overall comfort levels are slightly lower.
If the Quad Cab will be useful, then the Warlock is the best option, and you'll also have the option of vastly increased towing capacity.
