2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Trims Explained!

With the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, you'll never feel limited in your options. The model's power and versatility is unmatched, and the level of choice it brings starts right at the purchasing point. The Grand Cherokee is available in fully ten different trims. In this short review, each one is explained to help you through the maze.

1) Laredo & Laredo E

Even for the base-level trim, the Laredo is generously equipped. Features including a 7" touchscreen with Uconnect 4, dual-zone climate control, and steering wheel mounted audio controls set a high standard for higher trims to build on. Add active safety measures including blind-spot and cross-path detection, and it's an impressive introduction. The main extras this level adds are improved seats, with four-way power adjustment of the drivers seat, cloth bucket seats, and a fold-flat front passenger seat.

2) Upland

This trim adds many cosmetic details, including black gloss wheels, black interior and exterior finishes, and blue accent stitching. On a more practical level, it also includes heated front seats and steering wheel, plus the Security and Convenience Group as standard.

3) Altitude

With this trim, the touchscreen is upgraded to 8.4", GPS navigation is added as standard, and a five-year subscription to SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link is included. And for extra interior style, the seats are upgraded to black suede with black stitching.

4) Limited

This trim sees the seats become leather-trimmed bucket designs with full heating, and the gear-shift knob is also now finished in leather. Electronic gizmos include a power sunroof, universal garage door opener, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

5) Limited X

The main additions at this level are much-improved headlights, with Bi-Xenon HID headlamps, halogen quad headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, and premium fog lamps.

6) Trailhawk

With the Trailhawk trim 4x4 becomes standard, and active noise control is added for a smoother ride. Also, the front seats are now ventilated as well as heated, and the second-row seats are heated too. This is the trim most suited to off-road adventuring while still retaining excellent comfort.

7) Overland

The Overland ups the interior style ante with leather wrapping and wood trims throughout. To match, the audio system is upgraded to a premium nine-speaker system with a subwoofer.

8) High Altitude

Trim number nine takes the technology features to a new level thanks to the inclusion of the ProTech II package. The exterior also gets a makeover with Granite Crystal badging, grille bezels, step pads, and tail lamps.

9) Summit

The Summit is the ultimate Grand Cherokee model, with complete interior luxury from leather-trimmed bucket seats through luxury Berber floor mats to a 19-speaker audio system with an 825-watt amplifier. But no matter which you choose, each one of the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee trims offers an excellent combination of performance, comfort, and style.
