All-New Electrified Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe
After having great success with the Wrangler 4xe, Jeep has decided to bring its hybrid technology to the already popular Grand Cherokee. The all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe takes everything that you love about the original model and transforms it into a more fuel-efficient vehicle, without taking away from its impressive engine power.
The all-new 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is not expected to hit the market until sometime next year. But here is a look at the innovative features that you can expect to find on this vehicle.
Powertrain
The Grand Cherokee 4xe will come equipped with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that is paired with two electric motors. The electric motor will be powered by a 17-kWh battery pack and will take the place of the transmission's torque converter. With this powerful combination, the engine is expected to deliver up to 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft of torque and can tow up to 6,000 pounds.
The Grand Cherokee has an estimated fuel consumption of 4.1 L/100km and has up to 40 km of all-electric driving. The powertrain also comes with a maximum-regeneration feature which the driver can select when needed. With this system, the battery will automatically charge whenever the drivers let off of the acceleration pedal.
The Grand Cherokee 4xe will also offer several high-quality 4x4 systems to choose from. There is also a Selec-Terrain mode, which allows the driver to easily switch between mud/sand, rock, snow, auto, and sport modes
Interior Comfort
The battery pack will be placed underneath the floorboard, which means that it will not take up any interior space. This means that the Grand Cherokee's interior will be as spacious as the original Grand Cherokee. In fact, the Grand Cherokee 4xe is expected to have u to 4,094 litres of total passenger volume. And because the Grand Cherokee is only available in Summit, Limited, Overland, and Trailhawk trims, it will come with a wide range of high-end features that help to make the interior more comfortable and luxurious.
Technology Features
Sitting proudly in the centre of the dash sits a large touchscreen infotainment display. The display is powered by the new Uconnect 5 system and features a wide range of apps and features, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Grand Cherokee 4xe will also come equipped with a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster that will clearly display important information about the vehicle. The Eco Coaching pages will let you know when the battery needs to be charged regenerative braking information, and the power flow ratings.
To help keep the backseat passengers entertained on long trips, there is also a rear entertainment system available. This system features two 10.1-inch touchscreen displays and will provide endless entertainment to your passengers.
